Beltane Maid

Though I’m a maid

of many years,

I wear a carefree crown.

I dance among

the Hawthorn blooms

on hills and dales and downs.

Seasons pass,

warm summer melts

the winter in my bones.

My wedding ring’s

a Hawthorn crown,

the ancient land,

my home.
